💻Installation

Server preparation

apt update && apt upgrade -y
apt install curl iptables build-essential git wget jq make gcc nano tmux htop nvme-cli pkg-config libssl-dev libleveldb-dev tar clang bsdmainutils ncdu unzip libleveldb-dev -y

Install GO

ver="1.19.1"
wget "https://golang.org/dl/go$ver.linux-amd64.tar.gz"
sudo rm -rf /usr/local/go
sudo tar -C /usr/local -xzf "go$ver.linux-amd64.tar.gz"
rm "go$ver.linux-amd64.tar.gz"
echo "export PATH=$PATH:/usr/local/go/bin:$HOME/go/bin" >> $HOME/.bash_profile
source $HOME/.bash_profile
go version

Node installation

git clone https://github.com/archway-network/archway && cd archway
git checkout v8.0.0
make install

archwayd version --long | grep -e version -e commit
# version: 8.0.0
# commit: e92af8cddf06c6d3e9d0205369f9a6f2c6f5985b

We initialize the node to create the necessary configuration files

archwayd init UTSA_guide --chain-id archway-1

Download Genesis

wget https://github.com/archway-network/networks/raw/main/archway-1/genesis/genesis.json.gz
gunzip genesis.json.gz
mv genesis.json $HOME/.archway/config/genesis.json
shasum -a 256 genesis.json
#b7c63fc5705c0e11a73e7278b93fba3ba93691ddd5b02b8e72503dd7221e25af

At this stage, we can download the address book

wget -O $HOME/.archway/config/addrbook.json "https://share.utsa.tech/archway/addrbook.json"

Set up node configuration

archwayd config chain-id archway-1
archwayd config keyring-backend os
sed -i.bak -e "s/^minimum-gas-prices *=.*/minimum-gas-prices = \"140000000000aarch\"/;" ~/.archway/config/app.toml
external_address=$(wget -qO- eth0.me)
sed -i.bak -e "s/^external_address *=.*/external_address = \"$external_address:26656\"/" $HOME/.archway/config/config.toml
seeds="3ba7bf08f00e228026177e9cdc027f6ef6eb2b39@35.232.234.58:26656"
sed -i.bak -e "s/^seeds =.*/seeds = \"$seeds\"/" $HOME/.archway/config/config.toml
sed -i -e "s/^filter_peers *=.*/filter_peers = \"true\"/" $HOME/.archway/config/config.toml

(OPTIONAL) Set up pruning

pruning="custom"
pruning_keep_recent="1000"
pruning_interval="10"
sed -i -e "s/^pruning *=.*/pruning = \"$pruning\"/" $HOME/.archway/config/app.toml
sed -i -e "s/^pruning-keep-recent *=.*/pruning-keep-recent = \"$pruning_keep_recent\"/" $HOME/.archway/config/app.toml
sed -i -e "s/^pruning-interval *=.*/pruning-interval = \"$pruning_interval\"/" $HOME/.archway/config/app.toml

(OPTIONAL) Set up indexer

indexer="null"
sed -i -e "s/^indexer *=.*/indexer = \"$indexer\"/" $HOME/.archway/config/config.toml

(OPTIONAL) Enable/Disable Snapshots

snapshot_interval=1000
sed -i.bak -e "s/^snapshot-interval *=.*/snapshot-interval = \"$snapshot_interval\"/" ~/.archway/config/app.toml

Create a service file

tee /etc/systemd/system/archwayd.service > /dev/null <<EOF
[Unit]
Description=archwayd
After=network-online.target

[Service]
User=$USER
ExecStart=$(which archwayd) start
Restart=on-failure
RestartSec=3
LimitNOFILE=65535

[Install]
WantedBy=multi-user.target
EOF
systemctl daemon-reload
systemctl enable archwayd
systemctl restart archwayd && journalctl -u archwayd -f -o cat

If peers do not cling for a long time or you see errors error: wrong Block.Header.AppHash, you need to use State sync or boot from a Snapshot
